There are several surface coating treatment methods in general mold accessories: TICN (nitrogen titanium carbide), TIN (titanium nitride), ALTIN (aluminum titanium nitride), etc.
Titanium nitride (TIN)
Color: gold

Friction coefficient: 0.23VSNI
Covered thickness: 1-6um
Maximum working temperature: 580`C

Titanium nitrogen carbide (TICN)
Color: Gray; Hardness: 3300HV
Friction coefficient: 0.23VSNI; coating thickness: 1-6UM
Antioxidant temperature: 450`C
Features: smooth surface, high surface hardness, reduce the wear of the cutting edge, avoid the phenomenon of chip accumulation at the cutting edge, suitable for heavy cutting
ALTIN (aluminum titanium nitride)
Color: Fuchsia; Hardness: 3400HV
Friction coefficient: 0.33VSNI; coating thickness: 3-5UM
Antioxidant temperature: 800`C
Features: high thermal stability, high surface hardness, high speed, dry, continuous cutting suitable for CNC machine tools,
Carbide Tools.
Using these surface coating treatments can make the mold parts have the following characteristics:
1. Among them, TICN / TIN can increase the hardness of the workpiece surface and prolong the service life of the workpiece. The TICN coating has a higher hardness than the TIN coating. Due to the increased carbon content, the hardness of the TICN coating is increased by 33%. Its hardness range is HV3000-4000.
